SSWLHC condemns the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The Society supports the right of all people to make their own decisions when it comes to reproductive health and to have access to essential health care, which includes abortion. As social workers we are also very concerned about the effect this will have on disadvantaged women from communities of color and other marginalized populations. Our leaders and our membership will continue to advocate on a local, state and federal level for all persons to have local access to choice on affordable and safe healthcare.
