Membership Announcement: Chapter Affiliation Agreement
As you know, The Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care (SSWLHC) is THE professional organization representing health care social workers across the country. Now, more than ever, the SSWLHC with its 400+ members needs to further multiply by including ALL health care social workers under the National umbrella – unifying our voice and reinforcing our power to accomplish our goals – supporting all of you in your daily work.
SSWLHC is excited to announce that we will be establishing an enhanced affiliate relationship with all local SSWLHC chapters permitting the chapters and chapter members to be more formally a part of National SSWLHC. One fee will now be paid to National and afford membership into both National and chapter divisions (where chapters exist) and provide access to the following benefits in addition to those already appreciated from local chapters:
- Free publications including online exemplars.
- Continuing education opportunities, including the annual meeting and conference
- The Leadership Institute, offering focused training specific to health care social workers
- Weekly emails regarding SSWHLC and industry updates
- Ability to participate in a health care mentorship program
- Networking opportunities with national and international social work health care experts
- Access to the membership database
- Exclusive member’s-only discounts on educational programs and products
- 24-hour access to Society information, resources and career opportunities through SSWLHC’s official website www.sswlhc.org.
- Access to the SSWLHC-Listserv- designed to enhance communications between members of SSWLHC
- Advancing advocacy initiatives to benefit members and the patients and families they serve
We have been working closely with leadership of the various chapters to have an affiliation agreement in place for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1, 2020. This agreement now represents a mutually beneficial affiliation between National SSWLHC and the chapters, recognizing all chapter members as national members and strengthening the overall organization.
We realize that currently, dues may be particularly burdensome, and for this reason we want to encourage people to reach out to the National office to discuss fee-assistance if necessary.
When you join/renew your membership with SSWLHC national, you will be given the option to affiliate yourself with a chapter. If you are a member of one of the following local chapters, please select the chapter you are affiliated with duirng this process. This will allow SSWLHC National to accurately attribute a portion of your membership fees each year.
