Condolences and Statement of Solidarity

As we stand in solidarity with our healthcare colleagues and NASW-Texas, we extend our thoughts and sympathy to the families, friends and colleagues of Jacqueline Pokuaa, LMSW and her nurse colleague, Annette Flowers. We cannot imagine the depth of sadness and feelings of vulnerability of our colleagues, who continued to deliver compassionate care to new mothers and their babies in the wake of tragedy. We recognize that this has changed the lives of all present, all who cared, including the first-responders, and all who gave birth that day. SSWLHC recognizes the daily impact of Jacqueline’s work as a healthcare social worker and those she served. All of those affected by this senseless tragedy will remain in our thoughts.
