On-Demand: Suicide Safer Care: The Importance of a Public Health Approach to Training Primary Care Teams in Suicide Prevention and Treatment

Presenters: Virna Little and Mary Crawford James

Description:

As with other life-threatening illnesses, primary care providers are in a pivotal position to reduce suicide rates. Approximately 45% of people who had died by suicide completed a visit with their primary care physician within a month before their death. The Suicide Safer Care training was developed to offer primary care teams the opportunity to learn how to identify, assess and care for patients at risk for suicide.
